About DCAP

What Mediation Can Do For You

More about the DCAP Program

Mediation is focused on the future and on creating a solution that is a win/win situation. Mediation is more cost-effective and quicker than going to court and is a flexible process that can be used to settle disputes in a whole range of situations.

DCAP is partially funded by Denton County Commissioners Court under the Texas ADR Act.

Mediators for DCAP are local attorneys who generously volunteer their time to offer this valuable service to our community.

Our Advantages

Benefits

  • Mediated settlement agreements are enforceable as any other contract when reduced to writing and properly executed.
  • DCAP matches cases with mediators based on the type of case and the level mediation your case is assigned.
  • DCAP offers a full range of mediation services for Family, Civil, Probate, and Personal Injury cases.
  • The cost of mediation is determined by which level your case is assigned. To see the list of levels, please refer to our standard DCAP court order. In many cases, your cost of mediation is substantially less due to the fact that we are partially funded through Denton County monies and because over 175 local attorneys have donated 4 full days per year to this program.
